Event Details

Culture for the Non-Cultured Meetup, a large social group, is going to see ballet performed by the very well-reviewed Miami City Ballet with choreography by the famous Balanchine and Tharp on January 24 at 1:30 for $31.99.

C'mon out and see the Miami City Ballet perform at the New York City Center! The New York Times has said that the “Miami City Ballet proves marvelous…the dancers are individual, skilled, colorful, confident, engaging.” Sounds good, eh?

They will be performing Symphony in Three Movements (Balanchine), La Valse (Balanchine), and In the Upper Room (Tharp)

Why Ya Don't Wanna Miss This

-- The dancers are performing works choreographed by the famous Balanchine and Tharp: Balanchine co-founded the New York City Ballet and is known for his theatrical, expressive dances, including the Nutcracker. Tharp has won Emmy and Tony awards.

-- Miami City Ballet has gotten really great reviews and look really great in the pics and videos on the New York City Center website: The San Francisco Chronicle raved, "“If this isn’t world-class dancing, I don’t know what is. I’d see the Miami City Ballet in just about anything.”

-- Afterwards, there will be eatin', drinkin', 'n merry-makin!: Wahoo!

Culture for the Non-Cultured

Do you live in New York City -- with tons of culture right in your own backyard -- but see Superman Returns and other blockbusters, stuff you could see anywhere? Culture for the Non-Cultured participates in 2-3 cultural activities per month -- including theater, art galleries, museums, walking tours, aquariums, and historical homes. Each event brings in 20-60 people. Usually, we eat afterwards ... because nothing builds community like sitting around a table full of calories! **It is policy that there are no refunds for events, unless they are postponed or cancelled, so make sure you can come to the event before you pay ...**
